Appearance is an important part of the total effect of a performance. Therefore, the performing groups have adopted a basic performance uniform. Desert Ridge High School will provide Tuxedo jackets/pants and Black Concert Dresses for students during the first few weeks of school. Students will be responsible for the remainder of their performance outfits (shirts, socks, shoes). Students will have two options of uniform , depending on the ensemble.
Option 1 - Tuxedo
Tuxedo Jacket/Pants (issued by the boosters)
Red Bow Tie (issued by the boosters)
White Dress Shirt
Black Dress Socks
Black Dress Shoes
Option 2 - Orchestra Dress
Orchestra Dress (issued by boosters)
Black/Skin Tone Socks
Black Dress Shoes that are appropriate for performance
Strolling Strings will wear their principal ensemble's uniform options. If a student is not enrolled in a parallel orchestra class, they will follow the dress guidelines for Concert/Chamber orchestras.

Exchanging Uniform Mid Year
If you are in need of a different uniform item midway though the year (pants, dress, jacket, or skirt), you MUST DRY CLEAN the old uniform and return to Mr. Burton with a dry cleaning receipt before you are issued a different item. Pro tip: Try on your uniform at least 2 weeks before a concert to make sure that it fits you.

Option 2 - Orchestra Dress OR Concert Black
Option 2a. Concert Dress
A formal black dress or black skirt and blouse combination
Dress or skirt must be ankle-length or longer when seated
Shoulders must be covered (no spaghetti straps or strapless dresses)
Avoid overly shiny, sequined, or casual fabrics
Black Dress Shoes (closed-toe preferred) with black or skin-tone hosiery or socks
DRHS owned dresses are available for use after Concert and Chamber Orchestra have been fitted

Option 2b. Concert Black
Black dress pants or a long black skirt
Black long-sleeved dress shirt or blouse
Optional: Black blazer or jacket

Orchestra T Shirt
The standard orchestra shirt will be booster designed with the orchestra logo. This shirt will be used for all official non-performance functions, such as hosting a festival.
Uniform Fittings
2025-2026 Uniform Fittings are scheduled on:
August 9th from 8am - 12pm
All uniforms MUST BE DRY CLEANED prior to being returned at the end of the school year. Dry cleaning receipt required when turning in uniforms.
Students will be financially responsible for replacing any missing or lost uniforms.
